5 Ways Signage Can Add Personality to Your Wedding Day
Your wedding signage does far more than simply tell guests where to go and what is happening next. It is one of the easiest ways to bring personality, humour and a sense of “this is so us” into your day, while still looking beautiful and considered.
A Monogram That Becomes Your Signature
Creating a monogram is a lovely way to give your wedding a visual identity. Your initials, often combined with your wedding date, can be designed in a style that reflects you and then used throughout your signage. Once you have a monogram, it can appear on your welcome sign, order of the day, table plan, bar menus and even your stationery. It quietly tells guests that every detail has been thought about and that all the pieces belong together.
Playful, Personal Wording
The wording on your signage does not have to be formal if that is not your style. One of my favourite ways to add personality is by changing traditional phrases to something that feels more like you.
Instead of “Cheese Course”, why not have “Cheese Time”. Instead of “Carriages”, “Everyone Out” can raise a smile. An order of the day that reflects your tone, whether that is relaxed, humorous or romantic, immediately sets the mood and makes guests feel part of your story.

A Table Plan That Reflects Your Interests
Your table plan is a brilliant opportunity to be creative. If you love travelling, it could be designed as a map. If you are book lovers, each table could be a chapter or a favourite novel. Music, films, food, family history, places you have lived, all of these can be used as inspiration.
When the design reflects something meaningful to you, the table plan becomes a talking point rather than just a practical sign.
Bringing in Handwritten Elements
Handwritten calligraphy adds warmth and character to signage. Even in very grand or modern venues, hand lettering softens the look and makes everything feel more personal. Names, quotes, vows, or even a favourite line from a song can be incorporated into signs in a way that feels natural and elegant.

Using Quotes and Small Moments
Little signs placed around your venue can add layers of personality. A favourite quote on a bar sign, a line from your ceremony on a welcome board, or a simple “You look amazing, by the way” by the mirror in the bathroom. These are small touches, but they are often the things guests remember and photograph.
Signage is not just about information. It is about expression. With the right design, wording and details, it becomes another way to tell your story and make your wedding feel unmistakably yours.
