One of the things I love most about being a wedding stationer is getting to know my couples. We spend months working together, discussing colours, materials, wording and all the little details that make their wedding uniquely theirs.

But the funny thing is, I rarely get to see it all come together.

Most of the time, I'm delivering everything early in the morning, or it's been collected or posted days before. Once it's in the hands of the venue or wedding planner, I have to imagine how everything looks on the day itself.

That's why being invited to Meg and Mark's wedding at Allington Manor to engrave their wedding favours on the day itself was such a privilege.

A Year of Creating Their Wedding Stationery

Meg and Mark first came to me around a year before their wedding, and from the very beginning it was clear they wanted every detail to feel personal.

Over the following months, we worked together to create almost every piece of stationery for their day. From their invitations through to their on-the-day stationery, every element was designed to complement the beautiful wedding they were planning.

One of my favourite memories before the wedding was actually joining Meg's hen party as a surprise. Together, we added modern calligraphy to artwork the group had created with the incredibly talented Tipperley Hill Studios. It was such a lovely way to celebrate before the big day and made the whole experience even more special.

Live Wedding Engraving During the Drinks Reception

As well as creating all of their stationery, Meg and Mark asked me to stay and provide live engraving for their guests.

Live engraving is one of my favourite services to offer because every single piece becomes completely unique.

Throughout the drinks reception, guests chose champagne coupes and glasses which I personalised by engraving their names by hand. One of the things I loved most was seeing so many people choose to add the wedding date alongside their names, creating a keepsake they'll treasure long after the celebrations are over.

Watching guests queue excitedly to have their glasses personalised, seeing them choose their wording and then leaving with something made especially for them is always such a rewarding part of the day.

It's more than a wedding favour; it's an experience.

Seeing Every Detail Come Together

Being there in person meant I could finally see months of planning come to life.

Allington Manor looked absolutely beautiful, and it was wonderful seeing every thoughtful detail exactly where it was meant to be.

One of my favourite moments was watching everyone celebrating as Meg and Mark went to cut the cake, with personalised tambourines shaking in the air and guests fully embracing every second of the party atmosphere.

Then there was one final surprise.

Without anyone knowing, Meg had secretly won a competition with AO to screen the England World Cup match that evening. As the sun began to set, guests gathered outside to watch together. Although I'd already left by then, seeing the videos afterwards looked incredible and was such a fun, unexpected addition to an already unforgettable day.

Why I Love Being Part of Weddings

Working with couples over many months naturally builds a relationship, but being able to witness the joy, laughter and excitement on the wedding day itself makes everything even more meaningful.
